Gary Wexler is a senior advisor to the Center for Third Space Thinking at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism. Third Space is a global reconceptualization of what the communications business should be in a tech-driven world, where communication is now integral to nearly every goal, internally and externally of a business or organization. In this capacity, Gary is responsible for helping design leadership development training programs for business executives, as well as the marketing and implementation of Third Space creations.
Gary is also an adjunct professor at Annenberg, teaching in the Masters in Communication Management program, both advertising and creativity, as well as nonprofit advocacy. Additionally, he is on staff at the International Training Program at Cal State University Long Beach, teaching teamwork creativity to visiting Chinese business delegations.
Prior to his university career, Gary was a marketing, branding and creative consultant to nonprofits and foundations throughout the world. His clients ranged from the Ford Foundation to United Ways and Jewish Federations. He transitioned into the nonprofit world, after a successful 15-year career as an ad agency copywriter and creative director, working at companies ranging from Chiat-Day to McCann Erickson, creating award winning work for clients such as Apple, Coca-Cola and Bank of America.
